Panchakroshi, en pilgrimstur runt Varanasi

Just av few words this evening on the full-day pilgrimage tour we did today around the city of Varanasi. Accompanied by Rana Singh, our persistent culture-geographer we (14 students and 3 teachers plus Pinku - who has been sick) visited several temples along an old route on the western side of the city. Starting with the nice Kardameshvara temple we carefully covered both old and new shrines and cosmic centra along an imaginary circle surveyed by Rana himself. Some facts told by him (in not so few words) can certainly be disputed, others are accurate albeit complicated to comment on. 10 hours later - and with only some samozas, bananas and 2 cups of chai in our bellies - we returned to our hotel, totally exhausted, dusty and hungry as hogs. On this event more things can be said... This are just a short account on what did happen. Pictures on the Panchakroshi trail will be pubished in due time.

Until then: Good Night gods, goddesses, stars and holy men!
